Some people think that radio has become out – of – date, there is no need to listen to the radio for entertainment and news.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Stepping into the 21^st century when human beings are entitled to a wide range of state – of – the – art approaches to broaden their horizons as well as enrich daily life thanks to technological development, the role of the radio has sparked the controversy over its existence. I hold a position that radio has significant impact on our life and should not be in danger of extinction.

There is a wide range of reasons why radio should be maintained, among which the chief one is related to the popularity of driving. The case is true that listening to radio while driving is considered as an effective means of gaining information for the majority of car users. Apart from it, radio enable busy people who do not have much time to watch TV or surf the Internet have a good chance to update latest news such as weather forecast, sports news or scientific breakthrough and so forth.

[like-gate] Another reasons cited to support the sustainability of radio is that thanks to technological development, function of radio is upgrated with the aim of providing users the convenience and sense of satisfaction when using state – of – the – art equipment. It is evident that with a good access to the Internet or availability of cable, radio is installed into some electrical device such as MP3, MP4 or cell phone by which users can reach the radio for news and entertainment or even share their music collection with friends and families. Last but not least, the popularity of radio is linked to its affordability. In simple term, nobody bears a responsibility of charging fee when people listen to radio broadcasting.

In the light of these facts, radio broadcasting own a wide range of advantages that are rarely found in any other means of media. Thanks to technological advances, radio performs more function and becomes more widely-enjoyed in the contemporary society.
